MGS Logo

Look what I found! A former co-worker of mine at Digital Kitchen, Chris Abbas, updated his reel. He's an amazing designer, and I thought I'd share my personal favorite piece that I saw (and actually helped on, a little!) in production at DK.

Check out the rest of his stuff! Really inspiring!

Edit: whoops, looks like vimeo plus won't let me embed. Here's the direct link.

JMIM Dance

Not sure how much more I'm going to do to this. I might strip all the video footage away and just do a rotoscope animation of him on the pole. Minus the pole. I think that could be cool.

Dedicated to My Friend

So, I've been animating in Photoshop lately, and it's really cool. It's like... a combination of animating in Flash and After Effects, except... rasterized. Anyway, I decided to smash this little piece together (literally, minutes of effort - haha filters), dedicated to my friend John Mark. Because he's cool. And I didn't feel so bad stealing his video from youtube.

Enjoy!

Creating a Library

At Digital Kitchen the other day, a few of the designers and myself decided to shoot some food coloring and water for assets in this project they're working on. I really liked the idea of it, and wanted to recreate it for my own personal use. Today, John Mark and I set up his camera and shot something similar (only this time, I did a little more than do what I was told, haha). Here's one of the videos cleaned up in after effects:

When we do this again, we will need more light.

Testing

All day today, I turned this:

Into this:

Upon critique, I've discovered that while most like the second image more, they miss the brightness and saturation of the first one.

Guess I know what my next step is.
